Composition syllabus

A project created for Earnest Cox's Spring 2015 Theory of Composition course using MS Word (converted to PDF for this portfolio).

The goal of the project was to create a syllabus (with annotations) for a hypothetical undergraduate course based on research into composition-related pedagogy. All three parts of the project tasked the writers to take on the perspective of an educator.

This project highlights:

  • Planning/development for an educational program (i.e., a college-level composition syllabus, including curriculum and class protocols).
  • Annotative writing for decisions made in the drafting of the syllabus.
  • Research writing conducted along with syllabus drafting for reference and general guidance of planning.

On-boarding document

An existing on-boarding document written to act as a "checklist" for supervisors in UALR's Collections and Archives department to prepare and orient new employees.

I was tasked by Chad Garrett, my assistantship supervisor, to rewrite and reformat this document to include more (and updated) information based on ongoing input from other documents and employees (including Mr. Garrett himself).

This project highlights:

  • Workplace documentation, including linked sources for various policies.
  • Informal research/interviews with office personnel.
  • Table formatting for visual layouts and organization.
